I used to rage a lot when we lost games but as I get older and post a lot of successes (and aging)including a National Title I have either gained perspective or the copious use of anti-depressants really works well.

So, after the game I was bummed a bit, and the 2 other Horn Fans that live near me here in Hong Kong were similarly bummed but we threw our kids in my pool and drank a few beers and felt better.

So without further ado here are positive things I saw (all negatives, even interrelated negatives will be ignored in this post)

1) At a crucial point in the game Edmond stripped the ball leading to a critical (or should have been critical) turnover - (ok I can't stay 100% positive, but I'll only devolve to snarky)

2) Edmond also went all the way to the sideline and drilled a guy who would have got a lot more yards.

3) Tyrone Swoopes has a cannon. What sort? M109A6. It's also apparently a cannon that has been Watson'd into one that is laser guided.

4) Watson is a great QB coach. He is either that or Tyrone simply morphed into being good, which could be true but would be quite unfair.

5) Watson called a really good game with twists that put Tyrone into good position to be successful and he WAS.

6) No turnovers

7) Malcom Brown/Malcolm Brown were both good, one better than the other, but both good.

8) John Harris made some great plays, looks the part and usually catches the ball - I'd still rather have his catches and live with the drops hoping Les will sort him out.

9) O line was better with the exception of Perkins. They now have I think 9 starts. 9 starts is absurd so they need to have some slack. We have one of the top 3 or 4 Oline coaches in the business. (Can I request a Longhorn Scott O-Line review vs UCLA?)

10) I really liked the rollout and quick slant throws. It worked well. I liked UP tempo at the end (wtf s up with announcers and pundits saying they are going 'tempo'- temp does not mean uptempo or tempo. you are always going 'tempo')

11) We were in it at the end. Who would have thought that after last week.

12) Swoopes, if he continues this trajectory, will be a beast next year. I mean awesome. And if Vince could give him a few blood transfusions so he could learn to run a bit he would be unstoppable.

13) One more game with Heard no burning his redshirt

14) Our guys laid the wood and never quit.
