So, the Heisman Legends
Means a Longhorn fan could put RG III in as QB for the Horns? Isn’t there something in the Constitution prohibiting cruel and unusual punishment?
by Longhorn in Canada on Jul 9, 2025 2:27 PM CDT reply actions
Nobody else gets Vince though
so that’s good. or not.
by Sailor Ripley on Jul 9, 2025 2:45 PM CDT up reply actions
Just as well
Even though we all know he deserved the Heisman. If he was an option in this game, nobody would ever choose another QB. All that trouble to program the others, for what?
by Longhorn in Canada on Jul 9, 2025 6:45 PM CDT up reply actions
If you select Texas as your favorite team you can only add RGIII to your roster
as a safety or wide receiver. If he is a safety he ends up an All-American and if he is a receiver he ends up with 20 career catches, but can block like hell on the receiver screen for the white wide receiver from the suburban schools.

So I could put Steve Spurrier at QB for Texas
Sweet.

Any links to ratings for Texas players?
Can’t wait to play it all after work tomorrow…

Wasn't going to buy, but...
Amazon sucked me in with a $15 discount for pre-ordering, and guaranteed release day delivery. Damn you, Amazon.

Freaking Jim Plunkett, Carson Palmer, and Andre' Ware and no Davey O'Brien?
Once again the anti-TCU bias rears its ugly head. Had we been in an AQC during the development of the game and not the MWC we would have been represented properly.
Serious question, is it true that if you select Andre’ Ware he is actually in the booth telling you how great he was and not actually on the field?

Yes, but
Your team is better off that way.

Very true. I do look at the list of "legends" and laugh.
Desmond Howard a legend? Really, he couldn’t touch Johnny Rodgers and the only bigger mistake would have been Gino Toretta.
I also wonder why no Earl, Ricky, Billy Sims, or Bo?

re: Andre Ware
That was funny. I’ve golfed with the guy several times. He rarely talks about his college days, unless it’s to hit on chicks. He’ll talk all about his Heisman to them. He loves college football though. He can carry an intelligent converstaion on just about any team in the country.

Why use great stories on dudes?
I actually liked him on the Texans games and hate that epic douche Mark V.

ha ha
I actually like Vandermeer. The “rock n roll” thing is cheesy, but I think his play by play is solid. So long as Mark is sticking to the play by play and not trying to be a color guy, he’s good. Mark and ‘Dre actually hang out off the air too. They’re pretty good friends. He’s certainly no Craig Way, but who is?

I will never forgive him for dissing Stevie Ray Vaughn concerning
Stevie’s guitar playing ability.
Guy was dead to me from that point and could take his butt back East as far as I am concerned.
All seriousness I think he gets in Ware’s way too often. Very, very, very few play-by-play guys can be the personality in the booth.

fair enough
Dissing SRV is blasphemy. I’ll reconsider my support of Mark…

I buy these games every other year so that there is more of a difference
and so far, I see not much different between NCAA 11 and NCAA 13.
I hate that EA has a exclusive contract with the NCAA. No motivation whatsoever to improve their product.

After many years I am breaking up with NCAA football
I couldn’t agree with you more. I’ve forgiven this game’s flaws in the past because I’ve wanted so, so much to play with as the Longhorns. I can’t take it any more. I did not make it through an entire season in NCAA ’12, for a number of reasons:
1) Recruiting. I can’t think of any part of any video game I’ve ever played that is less fun than recruiting in NCAA football. It’s time-consuming and boring. You can get help from the AI, but you have to pay extra for that, of course. And God help you if you skip a week… but the temptation to skip recruiting during the bye week is too great.
2) Playbooks which have little to no correlation to teams’ actual playbooks.
3) The play-by-play. It’s bad in every sports game, but here, with so many teams, the same generic bits get recycled ad infinitum.
4) Pass defense. Need I say more?
Sorry guys. EA’s NCAA Football series is the video game equivalent of the BCS. A fundamentally flawed product that we have to buy into cause it’s the only game in town. Well, I’m done. I’m going back to Tecmo Bowl.

Also
I must have drunkenly ordered it one night, because I don’t remember doing it, and there it was on my doorstep this morning. Huh.
by pleaseplaykindle on Jul 10, 2025 1:58 PM CDT reply actions
that happened to me one time
but not with a video game

Yes?
I want to know nothing about it

Bought mine from PSN pre-order
due to the fact that i am lazy and don’t feel like going to Walmart/Best Buy/Gamestop etc…
Unfortunately, I was unaware that PSN would not update the site until 6pm today, making it unable to download my purchase.
Not thrilled about that one bit.

Texas Fight isn't in the damn game!?
In NCAA 13, TCU and Texas A&M are also confirmed as having generic fight song accompaniments. An EA Sports representative confirmed to me that the game is not licensed to use these three Texas schools’ fight songs.
MASSIVE FAIL!
I was ready to pick this game up considering I just bought an xbox. I’ll be buying a used copy of 12 instead.
