not a thing of beauty

but neither are their uniforms. But that is AWESOME! I really hate that place and it’s hometown officiating.

Honestly, I like the stripes.

I like ‘em too, don’t see why people hate so hard. We’re like sprinting American flags out there. But I don’t watch soccer so my opinion counts for less.

Got A Place in Mexico City

Nice place to stay away from. People just absurd. Tim Howard waiting in goal with idiots trying to put lasers in his eyes. Nice.

I'll happily take the win

I was surprised with how well the defense played, not to say that they were amazing but better than I expected. Tim Howard bailed them out a few times along with a few Mexican misses.

Couldn't agree more

The back line played pretty stout defense for the most part… that makes about the first time I have written or thought that in the last 4 years.

I thought yesterday would get very ugly, very quickly.

It's always ugly between these two teams

Crowd shenanigans are a part of international soccer. Classless, yes, but not as bad as what happens in some European and South American cities.

Neither team had anything resembling the rosters we’ll see at the World Cup.

It was a meaningless game in terms of actually counting, and not that meaningful for the Mexican side. But a big win for the U.S.

Huh?
Classless, yes, but not as bad as what happens in some European and South American cities.

They throw shit and cups of piss at Americans. The US supporters last night had to be evacuated by riot police.
I think it’s safe to say that environment is pretty much on par with the worst of the rest of the world.

I have always heard that Azteca is amongst the worst environments to play in the world. Fans are extremely close to the field, and piss/fecal matter throwing is well documented.

The worst European club environment, at most equals Azteca.

hilarious that the US won

with that garbage lineup they put out on the field.

the defense was actually a pleasant surprise for the most part. starting 4 defensive mids while klinsmann preaches how he is changing the US to a new offensive style is funny though.
