Last weekend someone asked me why I seem to enjoy TCU beating the crap out of OSU so much and I will be honest in saying in the Frogs could have dropped 70 on Gundy last weekend.
To be blunt, I have been told by multiple friends who are on college staffs in and near that state that no school has been as particularly underhanded in regards to negative recruiting as the Cowboys. Can I prove that? No, but I take these people for the word and people I know around the TCU program have made some comments about the recruiting tact taken by the Cowboys in regards to swaying a few kids away from TCU.
Cry over getting our butt beat on the field and in recruiting? Possibly, but what seems to irritate the friends on college staffs concerning Gundy and some of his staff is the what, no way we would possibly do that attitude displayed when called on their behavior.
Coaches are an interesting group. All the guys I know in the college game respect how single minded Art Briles is concerning winning. They all don't like Art and will acknowledge Art will look for every advantage he can and press on that again and again and again, but they also all say Art will tell you he is going to try to beat you as bad as he can plain and simple.
Gundy however seems to be viewed as the East Texas Baptist who you catch in the alley behind his house early one Monday morning buring his beer cans from the weekend in his neighbor's cans. The first to call out his peers, the first to cry foul, and person who denies the loudest when a finger is pointed in his direction.
Which brings me the latest from Stillwater. The OSU athletic department is suing Joe Wickline for breech of contract. Linked below is the ESPN story on the suit.
I am not a lawyer so I have no clue if the suit has any merit, but I am curious if OSU thought this thing through at all. They supposedly just wrapped up an NCAA investigation and wouldn't it be interested if this new suit were to go to Court and Wickline was callled to the stand to testify about his time in Stillwater.
