Eric Kelly & Church Street Boxing Gym
The video should be enough to make you laugh, but then I decided to look up Church St Gym on Yelp. Let's hear from some of Eric's favorite Wall Street nerds and miscreants.

Euro 2012 Preview: This Should Be A Good One
There's an old joke about international soccer tournaments, saying they're just a few games and then the Germans win on penalties. Euro 2012, which starts Friday in the Ukraine and Poland, could stick to that, thanks to a strong Germany side. Realistically, though, the field is wide open and the group stages are packed with great matches, which should make this a great tournament.

Oscar Pistorius: The Blade Runner
Oscar Pistorius is the fastest man with no legs in the world. And when he ran a 45.07 in the 400 meters on July 19, 2025 - a time sufficient for an A level Olympic qualification, runners with biological legs began to get increasingly nervous about what the inclusion of carbon-fiber limbed runners meant for the future of their sport.
The controversy around Pistorius, and what it means to our definitions of competition, is fascinating, because it plumbs into the depth of the Olympic ideal and what the games ultimately stand for: is the brotherhood of Man through sport better expressed in generous inclusiveness or in adherence to the strict purity of competition? Is Pistorius an irresistible marketing opportunity for shoe and apparel companies - who can exert considerable political pressure on Olympic officials - a simple product of bio-mechanical engineering? Or is he legitimate inspiration for a disabled community that struggles with indignities most of us can't imagine?
Yes.

Champions League Final: Can Chelsea Finally Take the Trophy?
Chelsea and Bayern Munich lock horns tomorrow in the Champions League final, the ultimate match of a competition that started last August and has seen many top European teams fall by the wayside. This is a final that few likely expected when the quarterfinal draws came out, and wasn't the likely outcome going into the semifinals, either, but Chelsea's handling of Barcelona and Bayern's dismissal of Real Madrid leaves us with what many disinterested parties might see as an uninteresting final.

The EPL Comes Down to 126 Seconds: Man City Are Champions
Even if you don't appreciate soccer, it's hard not to appreciate the closing minutes of Sunday's final round of English Premier League matches. Manchester City and Manchester United went in to the games tied on points, with City holding the advantage of a better goal difference. United took care of business at Sunderland, winning 1-0. Their match finished with the team and its fans thinking they'd won the league, with City down 2-1 at home to QPR, a team just a hair away from being relegated into the lower division. But there were a few more minutes of injury time to be played at Eastlands...

USA Basketball: Olympic Team Adds Harden, Davis To Roster Selection
I've been following the next Dream Team with some interest and now that Dwight Howard and Derrick Rose will be unavailable for Team USA in London, the roster has some exciting young talents emerging for consideration.
The U.S. recently added college player of the year Anthony Davis and Oklahoma City's James Harden to its pool of finalists.
Anthony Davis will be the #1 pick in the NBA draft and though he's still a teen, he's one of the best pure shot blockers on the planet. He has situational value, is a strong finisher in transition, and certainly won't grumble at the end of the bench. He fits Coach K's team vision of speed, defensive length, and the ability to defend multiple positions, so don't be surprised if he grabs a roster spot over more established veterans.
22 year old James Harden has become Black Havlicek - an efficient scorer, ball-handler, passer, and rebounder who is basically OKC's victory caulk. And anyone who defends him is caulk block. I expect him to grab a 12 man roster spot.

FA Cup Final Preview: Liverpool v Chelsea v Subtext
Chelsea meet Liverpool on the hallowed turf of Wembley Stadium on Saturday (11 CST on Fox Soccer Channel) in the final of England's historic FA Cup*. It's a chance for Liverpool to further attempt to salvage a poor season by adding the trophy to their earlier league win (Carling Cup), and while Chelsea might have one eye on the Champions League final in two weeks, they'll be looking to take the trophy home, too.
This should be a fairly spicy affair, as quite a rivalry has developed between the two clubs (this is the 31st time they've met in the past 8 seasons), based largely around their meetings in the Champions League and other cups. But in addition to the usual head-to-head battles, this match features a number of compelling subplots.
