Report: Colts Meet With Andrew Luck for Three Hours to Discuss Ryan Tannehill
A source close to the Indianapolis Colts, owners of the first pick in this month's NFL Draft, has confirmed that team officials recently met with Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck for approximately three hours, in an attempt to learn more about Texas A&M; quarterback Ryan Tannehill. "Yeah, that was pretty much it," the source said. "They showed Andrew a lot of video of Ryan, both in-game and just working out. Andrew is such a student of the game that the entire Colts organization was really excited to get his opinion on Ryan Tannehill."
Tannehill has almost inexplicably shot up the draft board of late, following a fairly modest college career. Once thought of as a mid-rounder, Tannehill will now most certainly be selected in the first half of the first round, possibly as soon as the first pick, if not sooner. The meeting with Luck in Indianapolis apparently did nothing to hurt Tannehill's chances.
According to reports, Luck looked on in amazement as the meeting with team brass began with Colts GM Ryan Grigson saying "Thanks for coming Andrew, do you get Fox Sports Southwest in Palo Alto?".
Be excellent to each other.

Fairly modest college career, you say?
He shattered every offensive record in the books.*
- For 6-4, 220 lb white males named Ryan Tannehill.

I’ve been wanting to hear about what Luck had to say on this important subject. Hopefully they will also talk to RGIII about the long ignored importance of mulletts in football today with Steve Taneyhill.

He is of no relation to former South Carolina QB Steve Tannehill, so you may resume hating him.

Seems like a colossal waste of Luck's time.

Best...
one read quarterback available IMO. As for that second or third read, not so much.

Damn near a third of the starting NFL QBs have difficulty with the first read.

Bottom 1/3 QB!
How high can I trade up to get one of those!
Tannehill is one of those guys that could have been a great find if he were drafted late and then slowly groomed into a starting QB ala Brady or Romo. Even with the rookie draft scale he’s not worth the risk of a early round pick. What if he never becomes good at reading the field? I tend to think that’s less of a learnable skill at this stage than NFL coaches seem to think.
If a Texas QB who grew up doing 7 on 7 drills and then started 1 1/2 seasons throwing 30-50 times a game still isn’t good at making reads that’s not a good sign.

He's a former wide receiver
world class Af-o-lete. Wait, can he be called that?
What’s Jay Schroeder doing these days? The Colt’s should totally look at that guy.

I think that the best point about Ryan Tannehill is his ability to easily identify the sheep in any defense, and to aggressively attack them from the back side of a defense.

link not working for me...
But headline on ESPN saying Irsay is touting Tannehill and calling him the “hidden gem” of the draft.

No one
would accuse Irsay of posturing during this process. Right?
Jerry Jones Lite, IMO.
