I can see the Ag AD is really trying to tone down the animosity and create a more collegial relationship between the schools, so the rivalry can continue.

Seriously, it’s pretty clear that this is being done to raise enthusiasm in their fanbase, and they really have no desire to play Texas anytime soon.
