Degenerates Unite - Week One CFB Gambling Chat
Greetings, all you fresh-faced degenerate BC gamblers out there! I'm of the opinion that we need a weekly FanPost to further tarnish the myth of purity in amateur athletic competition engage in some friendly banter about light-hearted gentlemen's wagers that we may care to place on each week's college football contests.
Now as I am tremendously ill-informed as to the state of just about every college team besides Texas and TCU, I'm looking to get the ball rolling here more than I'm hoping to share any insight (check the Week One NFL Gambling Chat for a topic where I have a bit more value-add). Hopefully, this post can act as dick bait (not that kind, Vasherized) as well as luring in others with some good thoughts on this week's CFB action. We may even be able to coax Huck and his supercomputer into action although he - like many, now that I think about it - may find the previous 'dick bait' sentence a tad off-putting. I need to remember to edit that before I post this.
My only real thought on Wyoming AT Texas -29 is...maaaaaan, that's a pretty tall number for week one. Even if you're very sanguine on Texas' 2012 prospects (as I am) and think that we're in good position to stomp the hell out of Wyoming (as I do), it doesn't take too many little slip-ups to make that line a very tough cover - particularly if we empty the bench in the second half. There have been rumors swirling about injuries to Shipley and Davis that may impact their availability but I haven't heard anything concrete - if anyone's got insight there, please share. I'm probably leaning under on this game at 51 if I do anything, and obviously that prospect would be more attractive if we're going to limit Ship and Davis' availability.
I'd say if you've got a thought or just want to start a conversation about a particular game, make a post about it below, and then we can use the handy SBNation conversation threading to keep all the discussion of that particular game conveniently grouped under that post.
Go get 'em, boys.
Be excellent to each other.

Surely I’m not the only other degenerate on this site? Right?

Horns - 29
I like the Horns to cover this line, but I’m not sure it’s playable against the juice. TTech and KU games last year should be apt comparison.
In this case, even if Ship and Magic both provide emotional support from the pine the whole game, I have trouble seeing more than 15-20 passes anyways. Wyoming sucks at defending the run by all accounts, so I bet they’ll extra suck later in the game, to the tune 45-10 or so.
The ultimate variable is a psychological one: will coaches empty the bench to help shore up depth, or will they take a Stoopsian scorched earth approach to promoting the team and building up starter confidence? This final unknown is why I won’t be playing the line; I will not allow a Case pick six to jeopardize my bankroll / childrens’ college fund.

I'm tempted with taking the U 45 in the S. Carolina - Vandy game
Seems like Spurrier teams have really struggled playing the opening Thursday game. Couple years ago they played NC State in the Thursday games in back to back years. In 2008 it was 3-0 at half before NC State started gifting touchdowns resulting in a 34-0 game. In 2009 the Final was 7-3.

Would like to add a healthy 'Harumph' to this idea
Will be looking at the slate tonight and tomorrow and will throw some thoughts up.
