Dalton Santos is my new hero

Dalton Santos is climbing up my list of favorite Longhorns faster than Daje can run the 40. A week after losing both his grandfather and grandmother, he is saying things like this:

"It was just that mentality of being the nastiest dude you can be out there."

"If they want me to go kick the ball, that will be my role. I will go kick the ball, and hit somebody."

"And I knew at that point, if it came knocking here, [Texas] is where I wanted to be. With them dudes. And I wanted to know that I could step out on that field and shed blood, sweat, and tears with them."

Blood, sweat, and tears. This guy was all in from the get go. During a year where Mack Brown is preaching toughness, this guy might as well be the poster child. What a champ.

Be excellent to each other.

Kudos to Hellboy for playing on Saturday.

Thousands of people lose loved ones every day and don’t have the benefit of playing football to use as a catharsis.

He’s lucky that he had that opportunity to help him move forward.

On a side note…I’m not a teenager, so I find it tough to look towards an 18 year old as my hero.

But for those of you who have kids, I’m sure there are a few lessons here that can be used as a teachable moment.

I have a feeling Santos is gonna strongly contend for number 60 before he finishes up at UT, and I suspect Nobis would approve.

I loved it when DJ wore it

I hope Santos becomes worthy some day.

Did you read my comment, or did you merely see that it disagreed and begin composing your response immediately? by BrooklynHorn

This guy brings it.

And he’s the kind of teammate that fires you up just soaking up his energy.
