Longhorn NFL Free Agent Signings
Aaron Ross just signed with Jacksonville for 3 years at up to 15.3 million, if he maxes his incentives. Cory Redding is headed to Indy for three years, 10.5 million. This is probably Cory's last contract and this will be his 10th year in the league. Any chance he plays LB? VY still getting no love.
Nice to see some former Longhorns getting paid.

The Redskins
also took a flier on Cedric Griffin a couple days ago following his release by the Vikings.

VY is the last best free agent QB left.
Not counting Alex Smith. There are still teams that want to bring in a veteran QB backup and VY is now the next inline to be called and its only a matter of time.

I think more than half of the teams in the NFL
have a red dot by VY’s name signifying “not worth finding out about.”

Andy Reid's over the phone endorsement
to any interested teams will be key here.

Andy should know all about second and third chances.
Need proof, look at his sons.

As much as I loved the Run Ricky Run documentary
I don’t know if I’d pay more to see anything than a true, behind the scenes and no-holds-barred doc on VY from the second the confetti fell at the Rose Bowl to right now.

Hate to see Ross going to a hole like that. He was one of my favorites. Was hoping he’d end up somewhere decent.

He's a pro athlete with two Super Bowl rings.
He went to the highest bidder in a low tax state so he can set himself up for the rest of his life. He’s working his plan. As is Cory.

I enjoyed the three months I spent in Jacksonville setting myself up for a career bump.
I’m not going to request a relocation from Austin to Jax any time soon, but I do have fond memories of my time there. I wouldn’t call it a “hole.” It’s no Austin, but it’s not like Lubbock, either.

I'm going to assume he was referring to the franchise and not the city.

I was calling the team a hole, not really even thinking about the city. I understand he has his rings, and it is a good thing, because he’s not getting any more now. Maybe he and his wife can really get working on that Future Longhorn Breeding Program now. The Bene Gesserit have nothing on us.
As far as Jacksonville goes, I guess its not the worst place in the world. I lived in Florida on and off through high school with my dad. My view of the state is probably a bit skewed since I spent most of my time being drug through the swamp to catalog some random mushroom or tree, wishing that I could coat myself in gas and light a match to get rid of the mosquitos. I completely understand why everyone who went there in the 1700s died.

After I submitted my post,
I put rubbed my chin contemplatively and thought, "Hmmm, my response was predicated on the assumption that the assessment of “hole” was levied on the city of Jacksonville. However, upon further contemplation it occurs to me that my initial assumption may have been hasty and neglectful of the possibility that it was in fact the city’s pro football team that was so harshly labeled as a ‘hole.’"
