Texas Longhorns Basketball: UT to Play UCLA at Reliant Stadium on Dec. 8
Per FOX Houston's Mark Berman, the Texas Longhorns will play the UCLA Bruins at Reliant Stadium in Houston on December 8. It's great news for Houstonians who are tired of seeing all the good football games going to Dallas.
This year's tilt should be a great one. Not only should Texas be better with Myck Kabongo staying and Cameron Ridley coming, but UCLA will also be a team to watch next year with stud recruits Shabazz Muhammad and Kyle Anderson headed to Westwood. Texas beat UCLA 69-59 in Los Angeles last year in a game that was watched in person by about 42 people (attendance estimate). The upcoming game in Houston should draw quite a few more than that.
For those of you who were fortunate enough to attend the Final Four at Reliant Stadium last year (or the two regionals played there prior), you know that the basketball crowd noise absolutely dies in that cavernous setting. Regular Erwin Center patrons will feel right at home.
The court is also quite far away from the seating; even front row 50-yard line seats still see the game from afar. Translation: buy the best tickets possible.
Reliant Stadium is set to host the Final Four again in 2016, so expect quite a few basketball events like this one between now and then.

Bring your binoculars
See Ben Howland scowl like he’s right in front of you.
Should be fun.

I know it is different with basketball, but I’m not one to place much hope in true freshmen. Over the last several years we’ve had how many incoming freshmen bad asses? Myck, Joseph, TT, Bradely, Hamilton, and Durant. I’d say 1 greatly exceeded (Durant) and 1 met expectation (TT). 2 out of 6 as a freshman - I do think that JH was a very good contributor during his second year. Hopefully Myck and the other freshman will show a lot of developmen

This comment would have made much more sense
If Kentucky hadn’t just won a National Title relying heavily on three awesome freshmen.

Sure, exceptions to the rule happen. Also, we are not Kentucky…and I think most fans are happy about that.

jc's not
That boy loves him some Kan-tuck.
I’m really glad to see us play UCLA again. Is Howland done if this year fizzles?

Is Howland done if this year fizzles?
Would think so.
Sean Miller has Arizona on the come, and Oregon’s Monopoly money should get Dana Altman some toys as well.
Howland’s fate appears to be tied to Dan Guerrero’s. I imagine if Howland has a bad year, both his and Guerrero’s heads will roll. Unless Jim Mora miraculously goes 11-1. By the way, Bruins Nation is an outstanding read in the bad times. They absolutely HATE Guerrero and his inept regime.

What does 'fizzle' mean?
Miss the tournament? Fail to make the S16?
Always gotta know what the expectations are.

So this should be quiet enough to take my new daughter to who will only be 9 months, right? I think a football game in September might be too much for her at 6 months.
