BREAKING NEWS: J'Covan Brown Will Enter NBA Draft, Forego Senior Season
Per a Longhorn Network tweet, Texas Longhorns junior guard J'Covan Brown will forgo his senior season to enter the NBA Draft. Brown was expected to officially announce a decision tomorrow, but it appears he has bumped up that timeline to today.
Texas' leading scorer J'Covan Brown will skip his senior season to enter NBA Draft. Brown will discuss on Longhorn Extra later today.

In related news, Naaman Forest senior guard DeMarcus Holland reportedly has a committable offer from the Texas coaching staff. Holland, who is teammates with Longhorns signee Prince Ibeh, is scheduled to take his official visit to Austin this weekend, and all signs point to him committing.
We'll have more on Brown's departure after it becomes official. No doubt, it's disappointing news for one of the most improved Horns under Rick Barnes' tenure. Brown could have really shined his senior season, and would have been considered a frontrunner for the Big 12 Player of the Year honors. However, Brown's departure does hand the reins of the team fully to point guard Myck Kabongo, who announced last week he will return to Austin for his sophomore season.

Backcourt
Our shooting and ball-handling took a hit but we just got bigger and more athletic with Lewis and McClellan’s minutes getting hiked up.
Our potential small ball lineups get hit by this but between Kabongo and Brown I was optimistic that Kabongo would be the better player in 2012-13. Still, gonna miss Brown.

J’Decision has dropped. Best of luck JCB. Glad that our players made intelligent draft decisions for at least just this one year.

This REALLY makes Ridley the key to 2012-13
Not sure where J’Covan fits in pro ball but hope it sets him up for life.

J'CB Quote
J’Covan Brown: “I’m not sure anyone really knows how much I love UT.”
Anybody who followed his recruitment has a pretty good idea.

Love JCB
Hope you are close to your degree and get that banged out, and I hope that you make a team in the league and are set for life.
So much respect for everything JCB went through- from the horseshit recruitment, to fighting himself and barnes and officials and… to team leader that took a seriously outgunned team to the NCAA tournament.
Take care of yourself and that little one JCB. It was great to have you here for 3 years.

Nuance
The NBA draft does forego the coming season, but if Brown goes for the draft, he will forgo his senior season.
It’s a shame he has chosen to forgo next season. At the rate he improved over three years, next season might’ve been something very special indeed.

J'bummer
But it was expected.
Considering where he came from, he exceeded every expectation I had. Hopefully he keeps his talents on this continent but I expect him to make a nice living overseas.
