Funny thing is his straight line speed isn't why he'll succeed. Great in the pocket.
Easy guy to root for.

He'll be a great DB
He may throw the best deep ball I’ve ever seen & he ain’t bad on shorter routes. It seems Longhorn fans pull for him, I know I do. I don’t remember another player from a school other than Texas that seemed to be so universally liked and admired as RGIII is by our fans. I wonder if fans from other schools feel this way?

I think you missed the "Q" key there...
unless you helped GD/Mack scout him.
And you’re right, he does seem to be one of the favorite guys who beat UT twice. I think in some part of our hearts we’re still telling him: “No, really, it’s not you, it’s us…” And for the first time in that line’s history, really meaning it.

as far as I'm concerned, RGIII
is an honorary Longhorn after he beat OU with 8 seconds left on that pass to the end zone.

This obviously proves that Greg Davis/Mack were correct to not recruit him as a QB
All that speed would have gone to waste in the Bubble Screen offense.
